On Call

NY Male
I have lived and worked in NY for the past 7 years and I would not want to live anywhere else.
Working in the entertainment industry has opened my eyes to a fabulous life. Great parties, restaurants, theatre, you name it. However, one is always looking for the next hot spot, or cool thing to do. Any advantage one can have about finding the “in” places or special deals is amazing. I am always trying to go outside my comfort zone and explore more of the city. For such a large place it can feel rather small sometimes. I feel that people tend to frequent the same bars and restaurants and don’t venture out enough. I would love to hear about new places that offer deals. When I am not working crazy hours I enjoy going to the gym, theatre, trying new restaurants, hanging out with friends at coffee shops or exploring trendy clothing boutiques.

NYC has so much to offer, it’s just a matter of taking the leap and looking for fun, new experiences. Life is short, and therefore one must take full advantage of every opportunity.

I'd love to know where you hang out and what you love to do! Email mobilespinach@mobilespinach.com businesses that you like and things you like to do and we will do our best to get you discounts from your favorite places.

The New Deal

January 6th, 2010, 1:06 p.m.

This month our new Mobile Spinach website is launching and may I just say that I am really impressed. The site has mad flow and the deals are right up in your face and easy to find. I think that’s the most important part. If the deals are convoluted and difficult to comprehend people will just skip over them and that will be the end of it. The deals are really taking off and I’m proud to be a part of it. Keep checking up on www.mobilespinach.com for deals in NYC! I’m working on it…

Meet and Beat

December 30th, 2009, 1:45 p.m.

I met my fellow Mobile Spinach-ian Tastemaker “Love to Eat” the other night and, like all Tastemakers, she’s a sucker for good times and sharing the wealth. Needless to say we got along. So she let me in on a little party that is going down after-hours at Webster Hall.

We are both big music fans and MSTRKRFT is the perfection when party music is getting dropped on yo ass. MSTRKRFT’s DJ duo will be holding a special after-hours performance tomorrow night so get your tickets now if you can! There must be some way to get MSTRKRFT on the future Mobile Spinach Recording Label!!

Mai Segreto Poco

December 9th, 2009, 1:13 p.m.

Drinks at My Little Secret (Sorry no website yet…the sign of a true speakeasy) are a must this week. The place is in Little Italy, where I haven’t spent much time and I’m ready to have some Sambuca and check it out. It’s almost disappointing to send this place up the flag pole via Mobile Spinach but damn it the public has a right to know about these things. I will try my best to bring the speakeasy world of My Little Secret to the speakeasy world of Mobile Spinach members.

Will I Laugh at Myself in the Future?

December 2nd, 2009, 10:38 a.m.

Recently I’ve been asked my multiple women (Not just Mom and Grandma) about what I might want to Christmas. Lately I’ve been in a strange mood that seems defined by not actually giving a flying hell what people think of me; especially on nights and weekends when I don’t have to be on point professionally. This mind set has lead me to wear certain items that, if they were worn by other people, I may have laughed at in the past. No longer. Sagalicious (www.sagaciousny.bigcartel.com) is a jewelry maker for men and women. The pieces they design could be exactly what I am looking for. I believe we have, low and behold, Mobile Spinach discount with Sagalicious too!

House of Sprits

November 22nd, 2009, 2:50 p.m.

New after work spot has been brought to my attention, Rye House (www.ryehousenyc.com). The descriptions I’ve read seem a little Wall street and stiff to me but your after work hours are your own and no one is gonna tell me what not to wear after Labor Day. The food sounds flat out incredible mixing down home recipes with delicacies you’d find at The Plaza.

K.I.S.S.

November 13th, 2009, 6:43 p.m.

I like bars that advertise their simplicity. Bar Henry says it all in the name and it seems they don’t have a website; even more timeless and one dimensional. No specialty cocktails here, well at least not ones colored to match a Hello Kitty backpack.

You’re a football player, you don’t have to Shave

November 9th, 2009, 7:21 p.m.

New razors are cheap, until you have to buy the blades that cost about four times more than the razor. What a serious rip. But just found out that if you buy the Gillette Fusion MVP razor you can win a luxury NFL skybox with five friends complete with an old fashioned shave while you watch the game. I want to get entered more times though if I buy the refill blades….bastards. (http://www.gillette.com/en-US/#/products/fusionmvp/en-us/index.shtml/?campaign=fusionmvp)

A New NYC Parsons

October 28th, 2009, 5:10 p.m.

Tipsy Parson (http://tipsyparson.com/) opens this week. I’m looking forward to the Southern flair of the dining. Also, the Crosby Street Hotel is happening these days. The bar in the lobby has after work drinks seemingly etched into the oak floors. (http://www.firmdale.com/index.php?page_id=31). Also, what’s pretty damn cool about the Crosby is they have a screening room. I’m pretty sure I can sip a scotch while watching exactly what I want to watch in their theatre…for a price of course.

Booth Burden

October 21st, 2009, 2:44 p.m.

Booths are just conducive to good conversation and an occasional dance off on the table in the small hours of the morning. I just saw a picture of the booths at Juliet in Chelsea and good god I already feel like I’m in A Clockwork Orange…with Belvedere instead of Moloko Vellocet. It opens this Friday and getting a res is going to be a mission.
