Founded in 1995 as a response to the cross-polination of the funky underground music scene in San Francisco in a time when club music was only found in the clubs on mix tapes. Om released Mark Farina's Mushroom Jazz, one of the first nationally recognized continuously mixed CD's by a DJ. Now 15 years strong, Om Records stands as one of the only true independent labels still surviving for the love and growing with the times. Branded the United Nations of Future Music (with labels, Om Hip Hop, and Child’s Play), Om's mission is to find and put out music that is refined, sexy, and always pushing boundaries.
