San Francisco Female
Ahhh, the infinite and invariable question with the every variable answer, moderately addressed, for the moment...(I love language)

Having a voracious appetite for books I read to learn, and write to understand. In an attempt to understand my insatiable curiosity I will try anything, and I am constantly seeking out to opportunity to do so. I have lived all over the country, and plan to live all over the world. My extensive international travel is a temporary 'satient' to truly experiencing other cultures. I believe you do not exist if not in relation to other, thus I find myself seeking to heal lost souls.

I believe in sustainability. I hunt because I refuse to be a passive participant in the slaughter of our planet and its occupants. I design, because creativity drives every part of me. I am learning what love really is, and that it is everywhere. I think the Buddhists got it right the first time. I don't believe in empathy, but it is possible to be sympathetic, and the fact is experience is relative. That said...I wish empathy were possible; I want to understand.

All that said, I am a product of my environment. I am a consumer, so in an attempt to lessen my impact I buy vintage. I love accessories - jewelry especially - as it is my family legacy. I also own and produce two jewelry lines, one of the family tradition utilizing recycled gold, and the other a series of one of a kind pieces made from redesigned vintage.

The last year of my life has been spent between Manhattan, San Francisco, Alaska, and Tahoe. I enjoy a Kettle martini with a twist and two olives. World renowned chefs, authentic Thai eateries, and cooking. Dancing till the wee hours in the hidden clubs of New York. Conversing at a chocolate and wine bar or an art opening. Skiing and boarding on the powder dusted steeps of the Sierra range. Mountain biking in the Alaskan mountains (grizzlier bear bait). Surfing the ominous swells of Ocean Beach. Fishing for King salmon on the Kenai River. I could go on...

I'd love to know where you hang out and what you love to do! Email mobilespinach@mobilespinach.com businesses that you like and things you like to do and we will do our best to get you discounts from your favorite places.

Renowned Bay Area nail salon, Pinkies is starting one of the most valuable Mobile Spinach deals we’ve featured in our Health and Wellness section.

From Monday to Wednesday, starting at 11am and ending at 4pm, Pinkies in Potrero Hill will match the value of any service you purchase…for free. This means you and a friend can come in, you can purchase a Fantasy Tan session, a Pinkies mani-pedi and a bikini wax your friend will get any treatments they want as long as they are of equal value to what you bought.

Of course this is a two way street and you might be celebrating your birthday or recent “single status” and it’s time for your partner in beauty to pony up for the half priced day of pretty.

There is a minimum purchase of a $28 pedicure the services don’t have to be the same and there is no maximum. The only restriction is that this deal cannot be combined with any other deal offered by Pinkies.

Pinkies Salon is a diamond awash in an ocean of rhinestone nail shops. They have tons of parking available and even better, babies, puppies and alcohol are all more than welcome, though combining all three at once is not a Pinkies recommendation!

Take a look at their website to get a feel for the Pinkies experience and the variety of specialized services they offer clientele.

Pinkies is also available for parties and events and they just love to play hostess!

What Smells?

March 25th, 2010, 4:31 p.m.

One difference between New York and San Francisco? When it gets hot in SF, the flowers bloom, in NY, garbage marinates.

These are the nights that pay you back for being a resident of San Francisco and putting up with the rain and dreading the summer fog. When the darkness rises and the sun sets over Fillmore Street, the trees stacked along the sidewalks blossom tiny white flowers which waft sweet goodness to the sidewalk below.

I’m not sure what they are called but they unleash an inspirational scent. Funny enough, the smell is complimented by wine…please read on…

La Med on Fillmore! Tues Nights Half Off Any List Wine! 1 bottle per table w/ 2 or more entrees

Tuesday Night Special: Half Off Any List Wine! Limit one bottle per table, with purchase of 2 or more entrees. Fillmore Street location only. Offer expires April 30th.
Yes! La Med has jumped into spring with a new deal for lovers of wine, dining al fresco and well…a deal for all lovers in general…Come get your half off one bottle of wine before April 30th!

Since 1979 La Méditerranée has been serving up homemade Middle Eastern cuisine at its Pacific Heights on Fillmore Street location. La Med, as they are known to locals throughout the Bay Area, provides a destination restaurant that offers some of the freshest and authentic Middle Eastern dishes around.

Mountain High, City Blog-down

March 3rd, 2010, 2:30 p.m.

I took a break from the mountain this week and I have decided I really don’t like the rain. If there is going to be an exuberant amount of precipitation, why can’t it just be snow? You can’t fasten one board or two to your feet and ride wet ground. Making rain-angels on the sidewalk is a sure fire way to contract meningitis of some strain and conversations, both over heard and initiated, on Muni are just not the same as those unearthed on a chair lift. The city also seem to suck my pocket book dry…even though it’s pouring rain. Here are some Mobile Spinach deals I’m going to try and use while I’m not on the mountain.

Clubland

February 18th, 2010, 11:46 a.m.

I’ve been asking my friends and relatives, sometimes one in the same, what exactly they would actually use a Mobile Spinach discount on. The reply was returned unanimous: drinks…well, drinks and food but mostly drinks. With this in mind I’ve been prowling the streets and pitching Mobile Spinach to many of the watering holes I frequent as well as many of those I do not frequent.

We’ve landed a few accounts and I really want them to work as my monthly self-appropriate allowance for alcohol is one aspect of my budget that just doesn’t seem to recede during difficult economic times. Here are a few Mobile Spinach deals we’ve landed:

Infusion Lounge

Located at the epicenter of San Francisco’s iconic Union Square, Infusion Lounge is a sophisticated nightlife destination. The Asian-inspired sub-rosa lounge, fashioned by Hong Kong’s hottest designer, Kinney Chan, is a true ultra lounge catering to both dancing hipsters and young professionals looking to relax in style. Its 6,000+ square feet include a private VIP room, a fully equipped dance floor, and an impressive main lounge.

Happy Hour specials can be enjoyed Tuesdays-Saturdays 6pm-8pm Infusion offers a full menu of Pan-Asian Cuisine paired with exquisite ambiance and exceptional service.

Chef Desiree Parada has prepared a Pan Asian menu covering a selection of amazing dishes from across Asia. Our delicious menu is perfect for Happy Hour dining after work or pre-club dining Wednesday-Saturday before club nights!

Lock it down!

February 11th, 2010, 2:20 p.m.

I am loving Laundry Locker! (www.laundrylocker.com) It took me awhile to believe using the service wasn’t actually more work and actually less expensive but behold! Cheap dry cleaning that is easier to “deal” with than just dropping it off at your local cleaners. It is difficult to break your routine I understand but once you do I promise you’ll be sold.

Just to get your started Mobile Spinach is offering $20 in free dry cleaning from Laundry Locker. They also gave me $10 off for being a first time customer. I dry cleaned two pairs of pants and one cashmere sweater for $1.16. Booo yaaaa!

In Cary Lane the barber shaves another cutsomer

February 3rd, 2010, 2:43 p.m.

Last week Cary Lane threw its grand re-opening as it moved from Noe Valley to Hayes Valley; a much more convenient stop off for those of us not living in Noe Valley (I know, we suck). It’s right on the corner of Laguna and Hayes, which is one of my favorite shopping and eating desitation spots in San Francisco. Cary Lane carries some top of the line new designers as well as some vintage pieces that would just look great hanging in my closet. Come check out there new space at….

560 Laguna Street
(between Linden St & Hayes St)

Ladies Night of Lounge Listening

Tomorrow night is the Listening Lounge: Ladies First at 111 Minna Gallery. It was supposed to be last Friday the 15th but it was moved so now I have time to blog about it and hopefully see all you Mobile Spinach peeps in attendance. Ladies are free and boys (and men) are $7 before 11pm. You can garuntee the ladies will be saucy and sassy tomorrow night as Minna usually draws some serious extroverts. I don’t think they’ll have any problem using their Mobile Spinach discount for “adult beverages”:

and click on the “Get This Deal” link, then you’ll have the messaged texted to your phone. Just show the bartender your text and you get your dollar off!

I’ll Repair the Hell out of that Air!

January 12th, 2010, 3:59 p.m.

I’m no fan of day time TV…well of TV in general but for some, especially those who are overly inquisitive about bettering themselves while abstaining from exercising or other out-of-doors activities that might make them venture outside midday, daytime TV holds a certain clout in life. I’m referring to Rachel Ray who recently gave a wondrous review to a Mobile Spinach client’s product called the Air Repair Kit. This three bottle, two tube set of hydrating lotions, mists, creams, milks and balms is designed to bring back the healthy skin you boarded the flight with before the moisture-void vacuum of the fuelselage turned you into Joan Rivers older non-existence sister.

Right now Mobile Spinach is having a deal on The Air Repair Kit for all you jet-setters:

Get 30% off the Air Repair Kit as seen on Rachel Ray and protect your skin when you fly!

I’ve never really noticed my skin blotching out or drying up during my times at thirty-five thousand feet but now that the Air Repair Kit has made me self-aware I’m sure I’ll prune up next time I’m in 14F. Better use that Mobile Spinach discount I guess.

So of course I’m joking and I can’t wait to use The Air Repair Kit. I’m sure it will make me feel like I’m diving into a blue pool of winter fresh gum, in Ireland, naked, while eating a Peppermint Patty, getting sprayed with a fire hose full of Bianca and soaping myself with Irish Spring with a big soapy brush. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Wasteland for Cars

January 6th, 2010, 1:02 p.m.

This year I’ve decided to become even more “Green” than I have been. Enough recycling and mulching compost (though those things are great); Mobile Spinach has landed a deal with City Carshare (www.citycarshare.org). I’m a big fan of used clothing stores so I figured sharing a car will be just like sharing clothes, as long as they are washed before I wear them and no one smokes in them. Anyway, when I can’t bike I’m going to use the %30 off first time discount on City Carshare…picture me rollin’.

sorry, no deals to show here... Home
