San Francisco Female Having a voracious appetite for books I read to learn, and write to understand. In an attempt to understand my insatiable curiosity I will try anything, and I am constantly seeking out to opportunity to do so. I have lived all over the country, and plan to live all over the world. My extensive international travel is a temporary 'satient' to truly experiencing other cultures. I believe you do not exist if not in relation to other, thus I find myself seeking to heal lost souls. I believe in sustainability. I hunt because I refuse to be a passive participant in the slaughter of our planet and its occupants. I design, because creativity drives every part of me. I am learning what love really is, and that it is everywhere. I think the Buddhists got it right the first time. I don't believe in empathy, but it is possible to be sympathetic, and the fact is experience is relative. That said...I wish empathy were possible; I want to understand. All that said, I am a product of my environment. I am a consumer, so in an attempt to lessen my impact I buy vintage. I love accessories - jewelry especially - as it is my family legacy. I also own and produce two jewelry lines, one of the family tradition utilizing recycled gold, and the other a series of one of a kind pieces made from redesigned vintage. The last year of my life has been spent between Manhattan, San Francisco, Alaska, and Tahoe. I enjoy a Kettle martini with a twist and two olives. World renowned chefs, authentic Thai eateries, and cooking. Dancing till the wee hours in the hidden clubs of New York. Conversing at a chocolate and wine bar or an art opening. Skiing and boarding on the powder dusted steeps of the Sierra range. Mountain biking in the Alaskan mountains (grizzlier bear bait). Surfing the ominous swells of Ocean Beach. Fishing for King salmon on the Kenai River. I could go on... I'd love to know where you hang out and what you love to do! Email mobilespinach@mobilespinach.com businesses that you like and things you like to do and we will do our best to get you discounts from your favorite places. |

I took a break from the mountain this week and I have decided I really don’t like the rain. If there is going to be an exuberant amount of precipitation, why can’t it just be snow? You can’t fasten one board or two to your feet and ride wet ground. Making rain-angels on the sidewalk is a sure fire way to contract meningitis of some strain and conversations, both over heard and initiated, on Muni are just not the same as those unearthed on a chair lift. The city also seem to suck my pocket book dry…even though it’s pouring rain. Here are some Mobile Spinach deals I’m going to try and use while I’m not on the mountain.

I’ve been asking my friends and relatives, sometimes one in the same, what exactly they would actually use a Mobile Spinach discount on. The reply was returned unanimous: drinks…well, drinks and food but mostly drinks. With this in mind I’ve been prowling the streets and pitching Mobile Spinach to many of the watering holes I frequent as well as many of those I do not frequent.
We’ve landed a few accounts and I really want them to work as my monthly self-appropriate allowance for alcohol is one aspect of my budget that just doesn’t seem to recede during difficult economic times. Here are a few Mobile Spinach deals we’ve landed:
Infusion Lounge
Located at the epicenter of San Francisco’s iconic Union Square, Infusion Lounge is a sophisticated nightlife destination. Its 6,000+ square feet include a private VIP room, a fully equipped dance floor, and an impressive main lounge.

I am loving Laundry Locker! (www.laundrylocker.com) It took me awhile to believe using the service wasn’t actually more work and actually less expensive but behold! Cheap dry cleaning that is easier to “deal” with than just dropping it off at your local cleaners. It is difficult to break your routine I understand but once you do I promise you’ll be sold.
Just to get your started Mobile Spinach is offering $20 in free dry cleaning from Laundry Locker. They also gave me $10 off for being a first time customer. I dry cleaned two pairs of pants and one cashmere sweater for $1.16. Booo yaaaa!

Last week Cary Lane threw its grand re-opening as it moved from Noe Valley to Hayes Valley; a much more convenient stop off for those of us not living in Noe Valley (I know, we suck). It’s right on the corner of Laguna and Hayes, which is one of my favorite shopping and eating desitation spots in San Francisco. Cary Lane carries some top of the line new designers as well as some vintage pieces that would just look great hanging in my closet. Come check out there new space at….

It was supposed to be last Friday the 15th but it was moved so now I have time to blog about it and hopefully see all you Mobile Spinach peeps in attendance. Ladies are free and boys (and men) are $7 before 11pm. You can garuntee the ladies will be saucy and sassy tomorrow night as Minna usually draws some serious extroverts. I don’t think they’ll have any problem using their Mobile Spinach discount for “adult beverages”:

I’m no fan of day time TV…well of TV in general but for some, especially those who are overly inquisitive about bettering themselves while abstaining from exercising or other out-of-doors activities that might make them venture outside midday, daytime TV holds a certain clout in life. I’m referring to Rachel Ray who recently gave a wondrous review to a Mobile Spinach client’s product called the Air Repair Kit. This three bottle, two tube set of hydrating lotions, mists, creams, milks and balms is designed to bring back the healthy skin you boarded the flight with before the moisture-void vacuum of the fuelselage turned you into Joan Rivers older non-existence sister.
Right now Mobile Spinach is having a deal on The Air Repair Kit for all you jet-setters:
Get 30% off the Air Repair Kit as seen on Rachel Ray and protect your skin when you fly!
I’ve never really noticed my skin blotching out or drying up during my times at thirty-five thousand feet but now that the Air Repair Kit has made me self-aware I’m sure I’ll prune up next time I’m in 14F. Better use that Mobile Spinach discount I guess.
So of course I’m joking and I can’t wait to use The Air Repair Kit. I’m sure it will make me feel like I’m diving into a blue pool of winter fresh gum, in Ireland, naked, while eating a Peppermint Patty, getting sprayed with a fire hose full of Bianca and soaping myself with Irish Spring with a big soapy brush. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.
This year I’ve decided to become even more “Green” than I have been. Enough recycling and mulching compost (though those things are great); Mobile Spinach has landed a deal with City Carshare (www.citycarshare.org). I’m a big fan of used clothing stores so I figured sharing a car will be just like sharing clothes, as long as they are washed before I wear them and no one smokes in them. Anyway, when I can’t bike I’m going to use the %30 off first time discount on City Carshare…picture me rollin’.
I’ll be on the slopes of course this New Years and find something fun in the mountains to do. The streets of South Lake Tahoe are always crowded and a cold mess of entertainment. There are a few clubs in the casinos that can be worth checking out as well but I’m looking forward to some cabin hot tub time with the crew. That being said…back in The Bay we’ve landed an account I’d love to take advantage of:
• Madrone Art Bar offers $1 off your drink.
Madrone is one of my favorite bars that always guarantees an eclectic group of drinkers and artists as well as an array of movies being slapped up on the big screen. It’s a great place to go before a show at The Independent which is hosting Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue for NYE. What I’m looking forward to is there Monday night Movie Nights. Next? The Hangover! Which I’ve never seen but have been convinced is a riot and a half.
Hawaii, I imagine is just as nice as San Francisco is right now. Right? Sorry to rub it in but I’ve been surfing everyday and sipping Pina Coladas on the beach. It’s just how we do.
